Reston School Kindergarten to Grade Six students spent the afternoon of February 7, 2018 participating in Global Play Day!
Teachers set up a variety of active play materials in their classrooms and students were invited to play!
- The Music Room had a variety of instruments to explore rhythms and create music with partners and small groups.
- The Gym was busy with mats to create forts and other equipment that encourages make believe and active play.
- Other stations included puzzles and board games, puppets and puppet theatres, a train, marble run, pirate ship, dollhouse, and Tim Hortons role playing.
- Finally, there was painting and other Art materials to encourage creativity, building materials like Lego, Bionicle, gears, straws & connectors and small manipulatives.
It was exciting to see students from different grades and classes working together and solving problems on their own.
Creativity and play are alive and well at Reston School!
